The mission of the China California Heart Watch is to research the extent of heart disease in the Chinese countryside near Kun Ming, Yun Nan province, one of the poorest areas of China, to provide free cardiac and preventive care to farmers and to teach Chinese health professionals the basis of preventive cardiac care. The heart watch which has offices in Beijing, Los Angeles and Kunming will begin this October by providing free care one day per week in the township clinics near Kun Ming. The Heart Watch has the endorsement of the KunMIng City Health Department and is a registered not for profit corporation in the State of California. Heart Watch doctors will work closely with the Village Doctors Training program of Yun Nan province and with physicians of the Saint Johns International Hospital of Kun Ming.
